Commonwealth treasurer, Commonwealth state and territory health ministers along with Portfolio agencies such as AIHW, IHPA and ACSQHC, work together in a mutually beneficial relationship with the Administrator of the National Health Funding Pool and National Health Funding Body. The NHFB is an independent agency with 21 staff that support the Administrator to oversee the administration of Commonwealth, State and Territory public hospital funding and payments under the NHR Agreement. The NHFB operates as a Commonwealth non–corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) and is funded as a micro agency under the Commonwealth Department of Health Portfolio.
